Hello everyone and welcome back! I can't believe September is almost over! It's definitely been great so far! Busy but great. This past weekend I went home for 4 days! My mother was getting married which she looked beautiful and so happy! She truly deserves love and the absolute best. Congrats Mrs. Houston! aka my Momma! I also went home to work on my other business, Fashion Forward! Please follow us on Instagram @fashionforwardguru. A little bit about my business, Fashion Forward was started with my best friend Sarah and I in 2013. We are both super passionate about fashion and connecting artists in the fashion industry particularly in our hometown, the city of Indianapolis. Sooooo many people are doing so many awesome things why not come together and show it!? So every year Sarah and I put together shows that have a theme and that spark awareness for a cause. With racial tensions happening in our country, we are doing a show this October for Black men called, "#BlackMenAreLit". This February we had a show for our sistahs, called, "Black Girl Majestic". I have to say I'm blessed that I can have a best friend that shares the same passions as me and we are just always on one accord! I haven't seen her physically since April but when I came home it was like no time had passed lol... In our show planning and discussions we literally are on the same wave length as far as the vision we want to create for the show it's scary lol yet so beautiful. #blessed So there's a little piece around what I do other than be a wife, manage a team at Topman, and a blogger, I manage a business with my best friend and our passion projects that aspire to change lives.

Now back to the title of this post lol... I posted the first picture this past weekend and people have wanted some outfit deets and have commented on the styling I choose! Well lets be honest not only did I handle business while I was at home I had some fun too! I went out with my bestie for food and drinks and it was so great to talk and catch up! I wore this super cute #ootn and also paired two of my fave prints to combine. Cheetah and plaid.

I love to combine these two because cheetah print, as you know, is a neutral color... well most of the time unless you decide to buy cheetah whatever in an actual color. I like to stick to the normal brown and black cheetah lol. *Side note* textures matter lol... The texture I have is a faux suede, very settle very lowkey. A leather or patented leather may be a little too much in combo with the plaid. So make sure your textures are on point lol. I combined my cheetah print with plaid because that is the pop of color to the outfit. Most of the time my plaid prints are a true school girl plaid consisting of the colors black, red, green, yellow and blue. All of which, when it comes to adding a color, go well with a neutral tone or print such as cheetah. I make these my accents and keep everything else basic and simple. All black as a base color or black and denim are great places to start if you're trying these combinations of print mixing out! Another print mixing combo I love is mixing floral print with cheetah. Pretty much the same concept when getting your outfit together.

Well this is all I have for now queens! If you are inspired to try any of my styling or fashion tips I want to see them! Please take pictures, post and #KandyreignStyle so I can shout you out and gahhhhh over your look! I love when people are open and bold to try new things!
