Hello and happy #selfcare Sunday!! I hope it's been a chill relaxing day for you as mine has been. Ok honestly I chilled but you know I'm a Virgo so it's hard for me to chill too long lol... I was chill yet very productive today! Just how I like it. I'm excited about this post! I think for the first time for Fall 2017, I was finally able to put on a chic Fall look and I loved it.
So technically we've been in Autumn/Winter 2017 for about a month, but the way this weather has been set up got me feeling like it's a prolonged Summer lol. In September I pulled out all my sweaters, boots, and layering pieces... I was ready! But it was so hot in the 90's and upper 80's that I couldn't even work those Fall pieces. I was perplexed y'all. However now we can finally breathe and all be happy... the weather is finally feeling like Fall.
I have been wanting to style these black "OTK" over the knee boots for some time now and the weather was perfect for these bad boys. I wanted to look posh, tall and chic on this beautiful day in the city of Chicago. I had this bomb floral top that is unfortunately from Topshop last season but I have never worn it! Some element that I love about this top is that it has a black undertone behind the floral print, ruffles around the wrist and an ascot. Once again that contrast of feminine and androgynous styling that I live and breathe by. I kept the jeans simple and wore my distressed indigo jeans because it makes the look semi casual and not all the way dressed up. When you have a lot going on it's very important to keep your accessories minimal and somewhat dainty. I was in the city and I'm always that girl on the go so I carried my bigger tote bag and wore my sunnies to cap off on that chic look.
This look was fun, chic, playful and very easy to throw on for mid day brunch with the girls or a daytime date with bae. Fall is our season queens! Wear the pieces you've been wanting to wear and do so unapologetically. Just remember pick your statement piece and keep everything else simple. Let your statement piece do the talking. :- )
