Prepare. 2k18

HAPPY NEW YEAR QUEENS!!! We made it lol! I honestly can not believe we are in the year 2k18, but here we are! Yeahhhhhh....

This is my first blog post of the new year so I'm excited to share some thoughts for this upcoming year. Honestly I don't believe in new year goals or resolutions. I believe that growth and change is an everyday process. If you don't like the way something is going for you then change it! Don't wait until another year to make that change. However I do believe that a new year symbolizes a breath of fresh air and a chance to be a voice of change over the course of a year or until you've achieved what you've set out to do however long it takes.

The title of this blog post is called, "Prepare.". This is my word of the year because this word symbolizes so much and represents many aspects of my life. Some aspects that I am preparing for in my life is my marriage, my health and wellness and my career as an aspiring business woman. I've been married a little over a year and it's been such a joy. A roller coaster at times but there is no one else I'd be on this roller coaster with! Just as individual people who set plans and goals, as a partnership we have plans and goals for our future and day by day God continues to reveal and orders our steps in whats next to come. I am very thankful for Jadien and his commitment not only to me but to be great and provide the best quality of life for us that he can. What I also love is that his personal goals become mine and my personal goals become his. We support each other just as any partnership should. As far as my health and wellness, over the course of a year my body has changed so much! In my opinion not for the best lol... I'm like what's going on here??? My diet. Moving to Chicago, which it has been a full year since the move, I have indulged so much in great food! But after talking to a nutritionist I learned that some people want to eat for pleasure and not for purpose. That really stuck to me. In addition to my workouts I am making some dietary changes and eating for purpose. No red meat and I am cutting back on my sweets! The no red meat thing I know I will be fine but these sweets... Y'all pray for me! But so far so good lol... It's all about commitment and getting results!

Speaking of seeing results, I feel like for the past few years I haven't really been seeing "results". A little bit here and there but not in my career, finances, health and wellness. Ya know that big stuff! I would start but wouldn't fully commit. Well this year I want to see my results and experience that feeling of what it's like to accomplish something you had your heart set out on.

In my career aspect of life, I'm preparing for growth! To grow you have to network, connect, disconnect, fail, try new things, maybe fail again, learn and listen. I don't know what is in store for this year but I do know God has something in store! All I can do is Prepare. Have you decided your word for this year and really figured our your next steps about your growth and development in every sector of your life? If you haven't I strongly encourage you to do so! Setting places of destination and things you want to accomplish is very exciting but feels even better once you accomplish them. This is our year! What ever you are going after it's not to late! Start today. No matter how long it takes we are going to accomplish great things starting now.
