BR Factory Store Styling Event

Hey queens!! I hope the new year is treating you well! I have so many projects coming up and I CAN NOT wait to share them with you! I’m learning to organize, plan and keep my head above water lol... when so much is going on I can be a crazy person but all is well so far and you know why??? I’m planning and having everything written down. I’m telling you it works y’all!

This weekend I had the pleasure of hosting a styling event at Banana Republic Factory Store in Lincoln Park. I got to engage with customers, which I love to do, provide advice and give styling tips to some amazing people. I selected a few items from the store that are apart of their new Spring/Summer collection. However my favorite piece of all that I choose was this tribal print wrap dress. It's so comfortable and bright! Y'all know I struggle with color and prints in my closet lol but I selected my first wrap dress ever and I love it. Any Summer vacations planned??? On to my other obsession.... the puffer. All winter season puffers are the “it” item you have to have. We are seeing bold and bright colors at Forever 21, H&M, Zara, ASOS and Missguided. I’m trying to do better on this no shopping and saving thing so without spending any money and actually getting money back, I had an exchange at Forever 21 and ran into this tan puffer coat in the menswear!!! First of all I lovvvvvve menswear lol... the styling, the layering, the tailored and over-sized fits, it’s the best. Being the team lead on Topman has expanded my love for menswear even more. Literally maybe 25% of my closet is probably menswear lol... not including the items I steal from Jadien lol. Anyways I’m going through Forever 21 and came across this baby and guess how much it was... *ill wait*... $15!!!!! And it was the perfect size! Well I wear a small/medium in men’s depending on what it is, but this puffer was a large. This was fine with me because I prefer my puffers to be slightly over-sized. So I did my exchange and got $12 and some change back y’all!

I wanted to style this look with something very simple and with lighter colors because believe it or not Spring is right on our heels! I love denim and to pair with this lighter wash of jeans I thought of a cream color cowl neck sweater. Blue was also calling my name so I said why not add in these blue velvet booties! I stuck with silver as the accessory color. Because I'm loving the notion of Spring calling I added a floral handbag,

So all in all a very simple and easy way to style a puffer coat the winter season! However the season is almost coming to a close and I can not wait until Spring Summer is here lol... so get your puffer in while you still can! If this weather breaks early and you can’t fit in your puffer feel free to visit me in Chicago lol! I’m sure we’ll have all the coldness you need for your puffer style lol.
