Hello all and Happy May!!! Crazy to think we are almost half way through the year! I'm so excited about this post and to be posting again about fashion!! But rewind I've missed y'all lol! I haven't done a full fashion blog post since mid March "All You Need is LOVE and Cupcakes" was the last fashion post! That's too long! But all the love, support, comments, likes and gassing me up is what keeps me going and inspired. You all are the best support system a girl could ask for! *big pink beating heart emoji* and flowers.
There's so many trends I'm really excited about this Spring Summer and I can't wait to share them all. One of the many trends that I'm excited about are polka dots. I was all about this print aesthetic in the year 2010-12ish but for whatever reason got rid of my polka dots! Knowing fashion always repeats itself I should have kept them lol... but hey, an excuse to go shopping! LOL!

What inspired me for this look was a vintage yet playful and feminine vibe. I love this skirt. I actually saw it in Forever 21 by surprise last minute. So I grabbed it and as I was heading to the registers to checkout I saw that it had to splits going up the side. I said absolutely not lol... I would love this skirt more if it was a full circle A line skirt I thought to myself. But one day I was online shopping and came across this sheer mesh smocked top with polka dots on it. It was perfect and the type of top I have been looking for for a while. So had to get it. Then I thought hummmmm polka on top of polka... that would be so cute! So I went back into Forever 21 to give this skirt another go... and it actually was super cute even with the side splits because the buttons going down the front add to the detailing of the skirt.

Of course you know I had to add a pop of color! What other color than my go to color... Pink. It was perfect. The saddle strap platform heels with that little peep toe were the icing on the cake to give me that extra touch of femininity I was going for. To top off the vintage flare, I added some pink retro cat eye frames to my look! The frames are clear and the actual lenses are pink. This was a super fun look that all started with inspiration from something else and led to me trying something new that I didn't have in my wardrobe before. Ya gotta try new things!

So that's the story and the inspo behind the look! I love a clean black and white palette but why not add a pop of color if you're ever considering a black and white look. Also this skirt wrinkles very easily! I had steamed it before I left the house and by the time I had sat down on the train and had tea with my photographer, when it was time to shoot it was very wrinkled lol... so plan with caution if you're gonna buy this skirt! BTW this look is all under $50 and all from Forever 21! *except for the shoes they are Steve Madden lol...*
Until next time queens! Stay shinning!
Next week will be back here for another look I'm excited to share for this Spring Summer! A few hints: This is something I said way back in March I was going to highlight lol, they are back., and track style is now in fashion. ;-)
See you all soon!
