Hello and happy August! Yes we are here!! Only 4 months left in the year... let’s do a temperature check. Are you still hungry for that fitness goal you set at the beginning of the year? Did you have a “word of the year” and are you still pursuing it? So far what are some of your wins? What are your learning moments? 4 months left let’s make them count.

This look, today on the blog, was simply inspired by Sunday brunch. I chose Doves Luncheonette in Wicker Park because I wanted to shoot in front of this red mural. I’m obsessed with yellow right now... yellow clothing, yellow accessories, yellow nails... it’s my new black lol. I paired this yellow bardot ruffle dress with the color green which is my other favorite color to color contrast with right now. My laptop totally crashed about a month ago so for the moment I will not be linking anything on LIKEtoKNOW.it. Links to the looks are provided down below.

Ashlee did an amazing job with this shot and captured something deeper than the exterior. She honestly captured my soul... me.

I’m a midwestern girl who loves the Lord but I also love quality trap music... 😏 Who goes hard for tv shows such as Insecure and Power and equally just as hard for Game of Thrones and allllll of the Harry Potter movies. ⚡️ I love a good twerk session with the girls but always down for a structured ballet class at the barré. Will be the first to death drop in the club *and may split her pants... 🤷🏾‍♀️🙂🤫😂 this happens from time to time, #truestory but one rip doesn’t stop the show 💁🏾‍♀️*, who also needs a quick cry when stressed or overwhelmed, just to relieve tension and emotions, then shes back to figuring things out *with the help of my support system*. She’s ready to hit the nearest thrift shop in Brooklyn but looking forward to camping while star gazing with family and loved ones.

Looking back in my late teens early 20’s I was afraid to be this woman. In school I was never the “cool” girl or the “it” girl, I just made sure what ever I was apart of that I became a master at my craft. Now as I’m approaching my last year in my 20’s I can look at me today and say it’s okay to be this woman. And I’m proud to be this woman. Looking back I’d tell my younger 20 year old self you don’t have to conform to everyone’s standard of “normal” and it’s okay to live and laugh out loud... it’s okay to just be.

Reading Beyoncé’s article in Vogue about self acceptance and advice to your 20 year old self really made me reflect on myself and my own advice.

I hope that you too can reflect on yourself, love on yourself and just be. ✨

This is all I have queens! Plenty of looks are in store for the blog this month! I’m heading to Vegas next weekend for bday festivities with the hubs! Highlights will be on my stories and IG posts so stay tuned!

Have a great rest of the week, stay strong and keep shinning!
